Our ‘No Beijing 2022’ Olympics campaign is off to a fantastic start!

Next year China is set to host the Winter Olympic Games, an event that the Chinese government will use as propaganda to hide it’s large-scale human rights abuses and genocides. Our campaign against the Games, run in partnership with Uyghurs, Hongkongers and Chinese freedom activists, has already been built an incredible momentum. Can you help us take it even further by making a small donation?
Last week we hosted a joint three day virtual event: ‘No Beijing 2022: Alternative Olympic Session’. In attendance were key voices from the Tibet movement as well as influential human rights experts, the media and activists from across the world. As a result of attending this event, a few journalist took our concerns directly to the International Olympics Committee (IOC) President, Thomas Bach.

As well as achieving daily global press coverage, the IOC have also reached out to us for a meeting!

Just two months into our 12 month campaign, we’re already making great progress.

Next up, we’re planning to hit them where it hurts: their wallet! In the next weeks we want to launch a big campaign push calling on one of the key Winter Olympics sponsors to back our call. We’re really excited by these plans, but we need your help to make them happen.

Would you consider making a small donation to support our ongoing campaign work? Anything you can spare would make a big difference.

The IOC themselves have on a number of occasions used the Olympics to call out prejudice and discrimination - most notably when the apartheid South Africa was banned from attending the games. So we know they have the power to stop the games happening in Beijing.

What is clear right now is that the IOC is under much pressure to face up to its failings and we intend to build on our recent success to ensure Thomas Bach and his Committee face up to the evidence of China’s abuses.

When we stand together, a movement of dedicated people really can change the world, taking on big power and big money to promote freedom and human rights for all Tibetans. Please donate what you can to support the campaign.

Thanks for standing with us,
